What Size Should I Buy?
Pizza’s come in various sizes and so does our range of pizza ovens, with the Ooni Koda 16 being the largest in our range, this pizza oven can help your produce pizzas up the 16 inches in diameter, making it the perfect investment for those with larger families or larger appetites.
For smaller spaces or for the want of a compact pizza oven, our Koda 12, Karu 12 or Frya 12 are the smaller options for those who don’t want to go large. These pizza ovens cook 12-inch pizzas, perfect for lunches or pizza parties to get everyone involved. Which 12-inch pizza oven to purchase? Although these 3 pizza ovens are all 12-inches, the simple difference between them is the fuel used to fire up each one.
What Fuel Do They Use?
Our ranges of pizza ovens use various types of fuel, with wood-fired, gas and multi-fuel options to choose from. Your fuel choices are made simple and easy to use with wooden pellets, gas, and charcoal for optimum temperature control.
Pizza is traditionally cooked in wood-fired pizza ovens, so if you are looking for that smoky flavour then your best choice would be to go for a wood-fired pizza oven. If you’re looking for quickness and convenient controls, a gas pizza oven will have you ready to bake a lot quicker than a wood-fired pizza oven.
Ooni’s Karu 12 provides a multi-fuel option in Ooni’s pizza oven range, giving you the choice between charcoal, wood-fired, or gas with the added Ooni Gas Burner. So, it’s a perfect option for those who are looking to have both the smoky wood-fired flavour when using wood pellets and quick, convenient cooking when using the gas fuelled option with the attachment of the Ooni Gas Burner
If you prefer your charcoal or gas BBQ, our La Hacienda Pizza BBQ Oven is perfect for those who want to try their hand at stretching their own dough. This cheaper alternative is budget friendly and can be placed on to any BBQ – providing it’s not tiny! This makes the La Hacienda BBQ Pizza Oven compatible with most BBQs, giving anyone the chance to make their own Neapolitan at home.

Not all pizza ovens come with their own built-in thermometer, we recommend the Ooni IR thermometer. Know exactly when your pizza stone is ready to cook the perfect base with this infrared thermometer, measure the surface temperature of your pizza oven in seconds by simply pointing directly at your pizza board for an instant reading.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Maintaining your Pizza oven is easy, with the inside of your pizza oven reaching 500degrees bacteria won’t be able to survive. After each use, simply brush away or vacuum any ash or crumbs to avoid a built up – something that can lead to burning your food easier in future. Avoid using water when cleaning your pizza oven as this can cause damage, to keep the outside of your oven looking as good as new choose to grab a damp cloth to clear off smudges and fingerprints before polishing with a microfibre cloth. When going for a chimney oven, it is advised to thoroughly sweep out once a year
Your pizza stone requires a little extra care and maintenance, gently scrape off any remainders of food and use a small amount of hot water and a brush to prevent any lasting stains. Similar to avoiding the use of water on your oven, it is not recommended to use cleaning chemicals, with stone being a porous material you won’t want to risk any chemicals being absorbed and later transferred into your food when cooking.
Is it suitable to keep your oven outside through the seasons? Investing in a cover will keep your oven protected and keep maintenance to a minimum, but our pizza ovens are made to last through the various seasons.
