chosen charity & fundraising events
Every year the Charity Committee at Ruxley Manor choose a new local charity to support. Throughout the year we hold a number of events where we encourage fundraising and the team themselves will undertake activities in an effort to raise as much money as we can for our charity partners.
We also look at other initiatives we can undertake that will help enrich the local community and reciprocate the support we receive from our wonderful customers.
We’re always open to new suggestions and new ideas, so if you do have any thoughts on how we can improve please do get in touch via our contact form and ensure you pop in the message that it is for the attention of the Charity Committee.
so far this year we have raised
for our 2021 chosen charity
We Are Beams mission is to provide comprehensive support services to families of children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment living in the Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.
They aim to support the whole family through a menu of services that directly benefit and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child.
Charity Committee 2021 calendar
This year is Beams’ 25th Anniversary so their fundraising theme this year is ’25’, as such we’ve tried to tailor our fundraising events to this theme as much as possible. Here’s a rundown of everything we’re planning on doing this year to help fundraise for Beams’ Plant A Smile Campaign!
If you would like to donate to beams or sponsor our team on their challenges, please do so using our Enthuse portal where all funds go directly to Beams.

25 Themed Pub Quiz
Our Charity Committee Quiz Master is squirreling through Wikipedia as we speak creating a Pub Quiz for Ruxley team members and families, with a 25 theme! We’ll be publishing our list of rounds shortly – if you’d like to sponsor a round and be thanked (or cursed!) on the night, please do so through Enthuse!
We’ll be ‘charging’ a donation to enter a team and will be throwing a few other fundraising games into the mix throughout the evening.
If you or your business would like to support, please get in touch with the Charity Committee using our contact form to discuss prize donations.

25 Hour Cycle
It’s August, it’s going to be hot. So as a team we’re going to cycle for 25 hours! From 1pm on 23rd August through to 12:30pm on the 26th we will have 2 exercise bikes being pedalled continuously during opening hours (in half an hour shifts) to raise money for We Are Beams.
We would thoroughly appreciate sponsorship and will be having buckets for spare change next to the cyclists throughout. The end of this marathon effort will also coincide with half way through We Are Beams Day!

We Are Beams Day
We’re in the early stages of planning and before committing too strongly to anything we want to see what happens with restrictions easing – but we are hoping to have a day of fun and fundraising in the centre.
If you remember Flower Power Day or RuxFest – this is the kind of thing we’d love to do if we can organise it safely!
17th September |
In theme with Beams’ 25th Anniversary – the Ruxley Manor team will be taking on a 25km trek (probably with a couple of stops along the way) as our second endurance challenge of the year.
This year, we’re planning to not get lost – but it may well turn into a 30km hike if we do!
Sponsorship is thoroughly appreciated and can be donated via Enthuse – please make sure to leave a message with who you’re sponsoring (or the team as a whole if you are).
