Ruxley Manor is currently closed

As of 4pm on 29th March 2020 we will be closing the Food Hall at Ruxley Manor.

We have worked very hard over the last couple of weeks to provide a safe environment for both our team and our customers to have access to fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and other supplies whilst local supermarkets have been feeling the strain of an increased demand.

We are now confident that most supermarkets are operating at a stable and sustainable level and as such have made the decision to close the Food Hall to ensure the health of our team members who have been working hard every day to provide an outstanding service.

We are incredibly grateful to all our team who have continued to work throughout this period of uncertainty and to all our customers who have respected the social distancing guidelines and made the entire experience as smooth and safe as possible.

It is with deep sadness that we are closing Ruxley Manor’s doors for an extended period for the first time since opening the Centre in 1964. This closure follows the advice from the UK Government and Prime Minister Boris Johnson on 23rd March 2020. We have always, and will always, put the health and safety of our team and our customers first, so although it is a change we hadn’t anticipated, it is one we fully support.

Whilst the Garden Centre will be closed until it is safe to reopen, the Ruxley Manor Food Hall will operate on slightly reduced hours (9am - 4pm Mon-Sat, Sunday unaffected) – for as long as it is safe to do so. To keep the Food Hall open, to serve the local community for as long as possible, we ask all our customers to respect the Social Distancing guidelines, staying at least 2m from others and during busy periods we will limit the amount of people in the Food Hall at any given time to make sure it is safe for customers and team members.

Over the last couple of years we have adopted the ethos that Ruxley Manor is “More Than Just A Garden Centre” and this stands true, now more than ever. We have team members hard at work developing an online ordering system which will allow you to order for local delivery only. This will be contactless deliveries and details will be outlined on our new website. So although the physical store may be closed, we will be doing our best to ensure you can still get your core gardening goods and outdoor furniture. If nothing else, at least the sun has started to come out and we hope in this difficult period of isolation you can begin to enjoy your gardens.

We will send another email when this service is up and running, we need to make sure that the service is secure and will run as smoothly as possible for you, with the closure of the store the development has been momentarily interrupted but we will be working as hard as possible for a speedy launch.

We would like to thank all our team who have worked extremely hard over the last couple of months throughout the uncertainty and all of our customers who have continued to, safely, support us.
